Pavane Op.50 by Gabriel Fauré
for Intermediate/Level 5 Piano Solo from the Free Sheet Music Index
Gabriel Fauré was born on May 12, 1854, to a cultured but not unusually musical family. He revealed his talent for music as a young boy, and trained for a career in music in Paris, France. Though the focus of his life was spent as a organist and teacher, Fauré gave us many compositions that are enjoyed around the world. Among his most celebrated works are Elegie for Cello and Orchestra, his Nocturnes for piano and Pavane Op.50. He died on November 4, 1924, a leading French composer of his day.
