Meet the Teacher
Ms. McGuire holds an Associates of Fine Arts from Northern VA Community College and from Shenandoah College and Conservatory a Bachelors. Ms. McGuire is also a Certified Tutor with Academy At Home and she tutors as well as teaches music lessons. She has attended summer music camps to hone her skills as a musician and is actively participating in a ministry that provides music and church services to the residents of a local nursing home. She also performs regularly on Karaoke based competitions and Open Mic's. Lesson Details
Toni McGuire has been a traveling teacher for 22 of 27 years she has been teaching. Lessons are conducted in the homes of her students allowing the studeht to have a lesson to the same instrument that they will practice on during the week. She teaches both classical and modern piano playing and tailors the instruction to the students needs. All genres of music are explored in lessons including hymns and church music, country, pop and soft rock. She believes lessons should be fun and motivating while still covering the basics of music making: scales, theory, musicianship, and practice. Students are encouraged to participate on quarterly community service concerts and the yearly studio recital.

"I especially enjoy teaching children 3-8. After having my own child, this age group fascinates me. I love seeing the "light bulb" of understanding going off on their little faces. I love what I do. I have a small studio that allows me to home school my son and spend time with him during the day.
