Objective
Aiken Drum provides an excellent wrap up for a unit on Scottish music and culture.

Materials
Aiken Drum Sheet Music (Music, Chords and Lyrics)
White board and markers

Lesson
Teach the verses and chorus provided here and then have the kids make up their own verses. Make it even more fun by drawing his hat, coat, etc. on the white board with each verse you add!

Lyrics
Verse
There was a man lived in the moon, lived in the moon, lived in the moon,
There was a man lived in the moon, and his name was Aiken Drum.

Chorus
And he played upon a ladle, a ladle, a ladle,

2. And his coat was made of cream cheese, etc.

Suggestions for Additional Verses
His eyes were made of pepperoni, pepperoni, pepperoni...
